GEORGE AINSLIE WRIGHT

George Ainslie Wright was born on 7 June 1874 in Stoney Creek, New Brunswick to James Edward Wright (b 1840) and Elizabeth Powell (1845-1893). He had two brothers, Charles D (1872-1942) and William Lewis (1876-1970). At the time of the 1891 and 1901 census, the Wright family was living in Coverdale, New Brunswick.

On 27 December 1904, in Shag Harbour, Nova Scotia, he married Grace Muriel Nickerson who was born on 7 December 1882 in Shag Harbour to Charles A Nickerson (1853-1938) and Sophronia Larkin (1853-1908). Grace had two siblings, Adelbert Avery (1874-1957) and Annie D (1879-1917). On 11 September 1907, in Mohall, Renville Co, North Dakota, they had a daughter, Marion Elizabeth.

By 1911 the family was living at 323 20th St S in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. 1916 found them at 545 5th Ave and 1921 at 513 Spadina Crescent. E.

George was a physician.

They must have lived in Shanghai, China for a period as on 18 February 1922, George and Grace, boarded a ship from Shanghai which arrived in San Francisco, California on 13 March 1922. Their final destination was given as Vancouver, British Columbia and their last permanent address was Shanghai.

1930 and 1940 finds them living in Los Angeles, California. Grace died on 22 of September 1940 in Glendale, Los Angeles County, California. Marion was a teacher at this time and lived with her father. She died on 13 June 1943 in Los Angeles.

George married Martha Violet Stewart who was born in Glasgow, Scotland on 6 July 1910 and died in Burnaby, British Columbia on 31 December 1983. He died in Victoria, British Columbia on 26 September 1956.
