Thomas was a tailor & outfitter, running his own shop in Birkenhead, Cheshire in 1901.

Thomas sailed for Canada on SS ‘Dominion’, departing Liverpool on about 8 July 1907 and arriving in Montreal on 14 July. Maude and the children followed, sailing on SS ‘Canada’ departing from Liverpool on 3 October 1907 and arriving in Montreal on 11 October.

Elsie married Archibald Black McColl (1893-1966) in 1920. They lived at 1324 Dougal Ave, Windsor, Ontario in 1921. Archie had served in the CEF during WWI as a driver. They had three children, Ruth (b 1921), John (b 1924) & Janet (b 1937). In 1921 they moved to the US, living in Detroit, Michigan. Archie died on 11 March 1966 and Elsie on 7 October 1984.

Elsie’s two brothers, Harold and Norman served in WWI in the 11th Field Ambulance Brigade which was deployed at the casualty clearing stations behind the frontline at Passchendaele. Harold died on 14 November 1917 and is buried in the military cemetery Vlamertinghe, Ieper, Belgium. Norman worked as a bookkeeper for National Cash Register Co living at 1019 12th St Saskatoon (1924) with his father and Freda. Norman married Virginia and they later moved to Hamilton, Ontario where they remained. Norman died in 1976 and Virginia in 1987.
