FLORENCE I PAULSELL née WITHERSPOON

Florence I Witherspoon was born in November 1890 in Spokane, Washington to William Witherspoon (1851-1922) and Isabelle Grant (1855-1952). Her siblings were: Archibald William (1876-1958), Herbert (1878-1962), Eva (1882-1960) and Charles Grant (1885-1959). She was raised in Spokane and married Frederick Otto Paulsell there on 5 September 1911. Frederick was born on 27 April 1886 in Phelps, Missouri to King David (1859-1885) and Sophia Rosietta Dietz Schuman (1861-1977). His siblings were: Charles Oliver (1881-1960), King David (1883-1885) and Elise May (1884-1885).

In 1900 the Paulsell family was in Rolla, Phelps, Missouri and in 1910, Spokane. Frederick and Florence had two children: Frederick Oliver (1913-1990) and Jean Isabella (b 1914). According to census records, the family of four immigrated to Canada in 1914. From 1916 until at least 1918 they were living at 231 8th St Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. By 1921 they were at 316 9th St E. According to Saskatoon Henderson Directories, Frederick was the manager of Early Fruit Company from 1915 to 1922 after which time he no longer appeared in the listings. Frederick died in Spokane on 25 May 1935. In 1940, Florence was living alone in Spokane. She married Emil Henry Schoedel there on 1 January 1948. Emil was born 1 March 1883 in Sharon, Washington to John M Schoedel and Catherine Brunner. He died on 11 September 1956 in Spokane and Florence died there on 22 October 1983.
