Isaac Victor Whitley was born on 27 November 1868 in Goderich, Ontario to Mark Whitley and Sarah McMullan. His siblings were William John (1853), Thomas Breadon (1855-1919), Adelaide M (1857), Elizabeth (Lizzie) (1858-1947), Robert J (1861), Clarinda J (1863), Martha Ann (1865-1949) and Mark (1867). In 1871 the Whitley family was living in Goderich, but had moved to Emerson, Manitoba by 1881. Isaac married Matilda Catherine Young on 29 December 1898 in Emerson. She was born on 16 June 1869 in Ontario to Jacob Young and Mary C Cooper. Her siblings were Ellen (1852-1938), Henry (1854), Harriet (Hattie) (1857), John Cooper (1857), Jacob (1860), Mary Jennett (1862-1936), Sarah Ann (1865), William (1865), Margaret A (1867) and George (1871-1871).
Isaac and Matilda's first child, Braedon Victor was born on 21 March 1900, likely in Franklin, Provencher, Manitoba as that is where the family was living in 1901. Three more children were born in Manitoba, Raymond Meadows (3 May 1904-25 February 1970), Floyd Irving Young (19 May 1905-29 June 1964) and Ralph Wellington (2 August 1910-22 July 1948).
The family was still living in Manitoba at the time of the 1911 census, but had moved to 101 Albert N in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan by the time of the 1916 census. They were still there in 1921. Isaac was an inspector for a land company. Mark Harold was born in Saskatoon on 21 March 1916 and died in Vancouver, British Columbia on 12 October 1949. Isaac died in Vancouver on 6 April 1932. Matilda died on 16 April 1950 in Los Angeles, California. Many siblings and children of Isaac Whitley ended up in British Columbia.
