William married Ethelwynn Eunice Reid in Calgary on 28 June 1922. Ethelwynn was born on 23 February 1884 in Lucknow, Bruce, Ontario to John H Reid (1828-1901) and Anne Elken (1845-1899). For a long time we were unable to confirm that William Scott MacLeod was in fact the signatory on the quilt. We are very grateful to Karen Hanna who noted the similarity between the quilt signature and that on William’s attestation papers and also found death certificates for William and Ethelwynn.
