DORA LILIAN BAKER

Dora Lilian Baker (We assume that the embroider mistook the second initial) was born on 11 August 1898 in Staffordshire, England, the daughter of Frederick Joseph Baker and Susanna Elizabeth Mason. She had two sisters, Marion Georgina & Hilda Marjorie and one brother, Frederick Ernest.

The family emigrated to Canada in 1909. Frederick Sr died on 28 March 1911 at West Fernie, British Columbia and. Susanna took the children to Saskatoon. Dora worked as a stenographer for CNR and Frederick Jr as a farmer.

In the 1920’s Dora was in New Zealand where she had an aunt Mrs W B Dawson.

By 1930, she had returned to Saskatoon and taken up her job as a stenographer for CNR again.

Dora died on 25 June 1977 and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Saskatoon..
