Rev CHRISTIAN "NORMAN" McKENZIE

Rev Christian "Norman" McKenzie was born on 2 January 1871 in Presque Isle, Grey County, Ontario to Donald MacKenzie (1835-1921) and Christina Josephine Kaiser (1844-1907). He had ten siblings: Elizabeth (1867-1953), Lily Catherine (1872-1968), Rose Caroline (1872-1971), Edwin Charles Alexander (Sandy) (1874-1895), Mary Amelia (1876-1880), Jessie Alberta (1878-1979), Isabella Amelia Gladys (Aimee) (1881-1971), Donald Frederick (1882-1970), Grace (1885-1978) and Robert James (Bert) (1887-1977).

Norman married Annie Laurie Gordon on 18 January 1905 in Sudbury, Ontario. She was born on 25 May 1874 in Newry, Perth County, Ontario to Arthur Gordon and Annie Morrison. No siblings could be located. Norman and Annie had one son, Alexander "Allan" MacKenzie (1908-1970).

In 1921 the McKenzie family was living in Kinloss Twp, Bruce County.  A perusal of the marriage registrations for 1918 to 1921 for Bruce County indicated that C N McKenzie was the clergyman who officiated at several marriages in Kinloss Twp. We could not find any other Rev McKenzie who could have been represented by the name Rev McKenzie on the quilt. Norman died on 3 November 1947 in Creemore, Ontario and Annie died on 14 January 1933 in Bruce County.  Both are buried in Ripley-Huron Cemetery, Bruce County, Ontario.

This family can be found on Ancestry under the title Culross McKenzie Tree.

We can find no explanation for the Mrs W McKenzie name juxtaposed with Rev McKenzie.
