BRILL/CASE/McNAUGHTON

Eliza McAllister was born on 20 July 1847 in Clarke, Ontario to Henry McAllister (d 1880) and Margaret McChesney (1790-1880). Nothing further is known about her family.

Eliza married Peter McNaughton on 28 January 1875 in Brant, Bruce County. Peter was born on 23 July 1841 in Puslinch, Ontario to Hugh McNaughton (1815-1885) and Elizabeth Stirton (1816-1906). Peter had seven siblings, Margaret (1845-1930), Jannet (1845-1930), James (1848-1851), Daniel (1851-1925), Hugh (1853-1858), David (1855-1930) and Henrietta (1860-1937).

Eliza and Peter had five children,

Margaret (1874-1958),
Hugh H (1877-1955),
Mary "Minnie" Etta (1878-1966),
Elizabeth Jessie (1880-1963) and
Jean (Janet) Creighton (1882-1970).

Minnie married Samuel Robins Brill on 9 February 1909 in Culross. Samuel was born on 27 July in Guelph, Ontario to James Thomas Brill (1830-1919) and Louisa Willison (1930-1898). Samuel had one sister, Lydia L (1868-1904).

Samuel had married his first wife, Helen Alexander Tocher (1867-1905), on 21 March 1888 in Wellington, Ontario. Samuel and Helen had one daughter, Haxel Alexandria (1903-1967).

Samuel operated the Teeswater Creamery and Grain Elevator. Samuel was a Teeswater councillor in 1908 & 1908 and then Reeve from 1910-1913 when he became Warden of the County of Bruce. He and Minnie had two daughters,

Louisa Elizabeth (1910-2001) and
Ida McNaughton (1913-2006).

Louisa Brill was born on 15 May 1910 in Culross. Louisa taught in Toronto and later back in Teeswater. She died on 10 October 2001 in Teeswater.

Elizabeth Jessie married William John Case on 4 February 1919 in Culross. William was born 23 October 1862 in Culross to George Case(1833-1866) and Joanna Jean McIntyre (b 1839). William had two siblings, John Marquis (1864-1888) and Georgina (1866-1937).

Elizabeth and William had two children, John Marquis (b 1890) and Jessie (b 1903).

Georgina Case was born on 9 April 1866 in Culross. Georgina worked as milliner in Teeswater throughout her life. She never married and died there on 20 May 1937.
