Mrs A SHAW née AGNES MAY ROBERTSON

Agnes May Robertson was born on 23 May 1872 in London, Middlesex County to Norman Robertson (1845-1936) and Lilla May Warren (1852-1924). Agnes had five siblings, Fred (b 1874), Henry Lawrence (1875-1963), Ruth Isabelle (1879-1963), Mary Meester (b 1880) and Charles Eric (b 1890).

Agnes married William McNavin Shaw, a barrister, on 6 August 1901 in Walkerton. William was born on 29 July 1869 probably in Kincardine, Bruce County to Alexander Shaw (1834-1911) and Anna Robertson (1839-1915). William had six siblings, Sarah Isabella (1861-1929), John Ross (1862-1944), Alexander Lauderdale (1864-1929), Margaret Agnes (1867-1868), Norman Robertson (1871-1899) and Farquhar (1879-1953).

By 1911, Agnes and William were living at Durham Street, Walkerton and William is described in the census record as a manufacturer. In 1921, his business is spool and bobbin manufacturing.

Agnes and William had four children,

Norman Robertson (1902-1962),
Grace Lauderdale (1908-1995),
Margaret Robertson (1908-1995) and
John Ross (1914-1993).

Agnes died on 12 February 1932 in Walkerton and William died in 1947.
