Robert Bell was born on 12 July 1847 in EastZorra, Oxford County, Ontario. He married Catharine Jane Bell (who was born on 8 June 1955 in Downie, Perth County) on 17 February 1875 in St Mary’s, Perth County.

Robert and Catharine had eleven children, William John Valentine (1876-1956), Edwin Lewis (1878-1944), Nellie Madeline (1880-1954), Robert Joseph (1882-1949), Samuel James (1885-1967), Mary E (b 1887), Jennie Annie (b 1889), Edith (Eddie) (1892-1923), Ada (1892-1892), Bella Jessie (1893-1966) and Agnes Alice (1896-1924).

William married Jesse C M B Slater (1881-1960) and they had five children,
Edwin married Elizabeth Anne Brindley (1883-1971) and they had six children,
Nellie married Charles James Bell (1878-1934) and they had three children,
Robert did not marry,
Samuel married Elva Lamont and they had two children,
Nothing further is known of Mary,
Jennie married William Moore (b 1889) and they had two children,
Eddie married Russell Sage Stewart and they had no children,
Ada died in infancy,
Bessie married Richard R McArdle and they had two children and
Agnes married William T Sillick and they had two children.

Edwin was born on 7 February 1878 in Culross. He married Elizabeth Anne Brindley on 24 April 1901 in Culross. Elizabeth was born on 26 December 1883 to Charles Brindley (b 1853) and Jessie Racher (1866-1953). Jessie had one brother, David Charles (1867-1962).

Edwin and Elizabeth had six children,

Gladys Mabel (1903-1995),
Earl William (b 1904),
David Edwin (1907-1964),
Robert Gordon (1908-1920),
Albert Samuel (1912-1978) and
Russell Orvelle (b 1913).

Nellie was born on 5 May 1880 in Culross. She married Charles James Bell on 26 January 1898 in Culross. Charles was born on 10 August 1878 in Culross to Andrew Bell (1855-1925) and Elizabeth Hindmarsh? (1859-1902). Nellie and Charles had three children,

James Louis (b 1900),
Jessie Matilda (1900-1901) and
Myrtle Marie Bell (b1901).

Samuel James was born on 5 March 1885 in Teeswater. He married Elva Lamont on 14 April 1915 in Brussels, Huron County. Elva was born on 24 December 1894 in Brussels to Allan Lamont (1863-1934) and Olive Jane Smaldon (1871-1949). Elva had one sister,

Lillian May (b 1893).
