ANNA BEULAH MAY and JENNIE EDNA MAY (JEANNIE) BEYNON

Jennie Edna May (Jeannie) Beynon was born on 8 June 1887 in RM of Wallace, Manitoba, Canada, the eldest daughter of Thomas Barnes Beynon (1851-1901) & Elizabeth Anne (Bessie) (Lizzy) Sparrow (1864-1937).

Anna Beulah May Beynon was born on 29 November 1888 in Beulah, Manitoba and they had two other sisters, Mattie Claretta (Clara)(1892-1991) & Aleta Winona (1900-1950) and two brothers, Fred West (1890-1971) & George William Foster (1895-1923).

Fred and George farmed in Medicine Hat, Alberta.

Bessie and her daughters settled in Saskatoon in 1914, staying at 713 Lansdowne Ave. Aleta & Clara were still students but Jennie began teaching at Princess Alex School and Anna at Albert School.

The next year the family had moved into 716 Albert Ave and both Jennie were teaching at Albert School where they remained until 1922.

Anna married Alexander McIntosh Nicolson (1878-1953) on 17 November 1923 and they moved away to Los Angeles, California, USA.

In April 1930 Jennie travelled to England aboard SS ‘Duchess of Bedford’, returning in June the same year aboard SS ‘Empress of Australia’.

Jennie continued to teach at Albert School until 1947 when she was 60 and had completed over 30 years of teaching. She died on 7 June 1955 in Calgary, Alberta.

Anna had two sons, John Alexander (1925-2003) & Donald (1930-2010) and three daughters, Gwendolyn Winona (1927-2000), Allison (b 1929) & Ruth (b 1934). Anna died on 23 February 1972 in San Pedro, Los Angeles, California.
