John Edgar Birmingham was born on 8 October 1875 in Ontario, Canada the son of James & Margaret Birmingham. He had two brothers, Thomas (b 1877) & James (b 1881) and three sisters, Georgenia (b 1873), Jennie (b 1879) & Ethel (b 1883).
John made his way to Kootenay, BC to work as a silver miner in 1901.
In 1906, John was living in Assiniboia.
John married May ‘Pearl’ Wright, (b 30 October 1887 in Leeds and Grenville, Ontario) on 17 April 1912 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Pearl was the daughter of Arthur Hubert Wright & Margaret Jane Thompson. She had two sisters, Florence (b 1890) & Ida Agnes (b 1892) and one brother, Jay Hubert (b 1897).
John and Pearl set up home in Saskatoon, initially at 229 5th Ave N and later at 304 25th St E. John worked as a insurance agent.
Pearl died in 1954 and John died on 24 June the following year. He is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Saskatoon.
