THOMAS EDWARD BINGHAM and LILLIAN ALICE TUPPER

Thomas Edward Bingham was born on 26 November 1880 in Ontario, Canada the son of John & Bridget Bingham. He had two brothers, Joseph (b 1876) & John (b 1878) and one sister, Mary (b 1875).

By 1908 Thomas was working as a clerk for Currie Bros, General Merchants and was rooming in Spadina Crescent, Saskatoon. By 1916 he had transferred to Clinkskill’s Mens Furnishings and was living at 511 Albert Ave.

Also in 1908 Frances Alexandria Tupper (b 30 August 1886 in Kingsport, Nova Scotia, Canada) was working as a milliner. Perhaps significantly, her mother was working as a milliner for Currie Bros, General Merchants and they too lived round the corner from Spadina Crescent In 1911 Frances was a clerk for Currie Bros.

Frances was the daughter of Benjamin & Althea Tupper. She had six sisters, Lesta, Gertrude, Mary, Minnie, Amy & Fanny and four brothers, Loran, George, Haynes & Havelock.

In 1917, Thomas was still living at 511 Albert Ave and become a salesman for Fit-Rite Shoes.

On 25 December 1918 in Wayne, Alberta, Thomas married Frances and they returned to live at 511 Albert Ave, Saskatoon. Thomas continued to work as a salesman with Clinkskills and latterly Gillespie Big 22, another men’s clothing outfitter.

Thomas died on 10 June 1934 in Wayne, Alberta and Frances on 28 September 1964 in Calgary, Alberta.

Loran Aubrey Tupper was born on 20 September 1870 in Oakpoint, Kings County, Nova Scotia, Canada and went to the US in the early 1890’s. He married Mabel Lillian Griffin on 22 July 1896 at Lynn, Massachusetts. Mabel (b 3 August 1873)was the daughter of Willis & Lillian Griffin.

Loran & Mabel had three children, Lorene Emerson (b 12 November 1902), Kenneth Franklin (b 21 July 1905) & Lillian Alice (b 16 February 1908), all born on Lynn, Massachusetts, US.

The family came to Saskatoon in 1911 and Loran joined his brothers George & Havelock in a real estate business.

Loran died in 1963 in Calgary, Alberta.
