David James Christie was born on 9 April 1878 in Chatham, Argenteuil, Quebec to William John Christie (1843-1913) & Sarah Ann Boyd (1862-1913). David had two sisters, Margaret Jane (1872-1952) & Isabelle Lilly (1887-1968) and four brothers, John William (1874-1965), Joseph Boyd (1875-1967), Ebenezer Arnoth (1882-1963), Norman Douglas (1885-1968) & Walter Leigh (1890-1910). William Sr farmed in the Argenteuil area of Quebec.

David married Victoria Bagshaw on 26 December 1906 in Exeter, Huron, Ontario. Victoria was born on 7 November 1878 in Tp of Stephen, Huron County, Ontario to William Bagshaw (1838-1930) & Betsy Singular (1846-1931). Victoria had four sisters, Sara Ann (1865-1930), Fanny (1867-1868), Prudence (1869-1941) & Lenorah (1871-1951) and four brothers, William Bolton (1873-1901), James Thomas (1876-1964), George Alexander (1883-1967) & Homer (1888-1941).

David & Victoria came west to Saskatchewan. David farmed in McCraney RM about 100km to SE of Saskatoon before moving further west to Strathcona, Alberta. Their son Lloyd was born on 21 October 1917 in Edmonton, Alberta.

Victoria died on 30 October 1961 in Edmonton, Alberta and David died on 11 April 1968 also in Edmonton.
