CORNELIUS J VOGT
Cornelius J Vogt was born in the USA in 1873. He was a traveler with Saskatoon Piano Company and lived in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan from 1917, when he was living at the Albany Hotel, to 1921, when he was living at 227 Ave I North with his wife Annie, born in the USA in 1891. The only census record that could be found was the one for 1921. All other information came from various Saskatoon Henderson City Directories.
This family tree can be found on Ancestry under the title 3rd Ave Vogt Tree.
We could not find a unique candidate for the C J Vogl signature, but we did find two likely candidates. If the embroider missed the cross on the t, the signer may have been Cornelius J Vogt who was recorded in city Henderson directories from 1917 to 1921 and who was enumerated in the 1921 census in Saskatoon. If someone wrote the name for Charles Vogel, they may have misspelled it. As people were writing on cloth, perhaps they did not often do corrections, even if they noticed a mistake. Similarly, Charles was present in Henderson Directory listings from 1912 and was also enumerated in the Saskatoon 1921 census. The other problem with the Charles Vogel candidate is that there was never an initial J associated with his name in any documents found.
