Archibald Duncan Campbell was born on 30 July 1886 in Bruce, Ontario to Archibald Campbell (1830-1880) & Anne McDougall (1842-1919). Archibald had three brothers John (b 1855), Archie Leo (b 1857) & Alexander Henderson (1878-1945) and seven sisters, Mary C (b 1866), twins Jessie & Sarah (b 1868), Joanna (b 1870), Margret (b 1873), Ellen (b 1874) & Charlotte (b 1876).

Archibald Sr was born in Scotland and came out to Canada in 1854. He farmed in Lobo, Middlesex, Ontario until his death in 1880. Anne continued farming and bringing up the family.

Archibald Jr had left home by 1901 when he was fifteen, possibly to attend college as by 1910 he was a druggist living at 5th Ave N, Saskatoon. Two years later he was working for the Saskatoon Drug & Stationery Co. He moved to various addresses in Saskatoon and in 1921 was living with his brother Alexander Henderson Campbell (physician) at 622 University Dr, Saskatoon. No further trace of Archibald has been found.
