JOHN D and EVA PEARL DUNNET

John D Dunnet was born in 1886 in Canisbay, Caithness, Scotalnd to William Dunnet (b 1848) & Betsy (b 1844). John had at least one sibling, Margaret (1883-1957). William was a farmer. John sailed from Glasgow on SS ‘Saturnia’ about 28 July 1911, arriving in Quebec on 6 August with the hope of becoming a farmer in Virden, Manitoba.

However, in 1912, John had arrived in Saskatoon where he lived for the rest of his life. He was employed initially as a shipper with the Codville Co, wholesale grocers, in Saskatoon. John stayed with the company, progressing through warehouseman, traveller and salesman. He worked for Codville for over forty years.

John married Eva Pearl probably sometime around 1915-1918. No surname has been found for Eva. John and Eva had two sons, Gordon (b 1920) & John Robert (Bob) (1922-2010). Both Gordon and Bob became lawyers.
