THIRD AVENUE METHODIST CHURCH QUILT

A CANADIAN RED CROSS QUILT

Another quilt?

GEORGE K STEWART

George K Stewart signer was impossible to trace. He was very likely the George K Stewart found in Saskatoon Henderson Directories from 1911 to 1917. Although many efforts were made to try to find him in 1911 and/or 1916 census records, he could not be found.

Henderson Directory entries were as follows:

1911 - 108 4th Ave N - clerk at Great Western Furniture Co (found that address in 1911 census, but he was not listed)

1912 - 712 Ave I South - Salesman Great Western Furniture Co

1913 - 434 10th St (Nutana) - Salesman Great Western Furniture Co

1914 - 417 Ave H South - Salesman, F R Bailey & Co

1915 - 406 Ave H South - Salesman, Dunn's Outfitters

1916 - 110 Saskatchewan Crescent - of Dunns - found that address in 1916 census and he wasn't there

1917 - 714 8th Ave - of Dunn's

No George K Stewart was listed after 1917

There were two George K Stewarts listed in the 1917 Hendersons - the other one was a clerk living at 220 4th Ave S. Either could have been present when the quilt was being signed.

This family tree can be found on Ancestry under the title 3rd Ave Stewart 2 Tree.
