CLAYTE SHERRY
Clayte Sherry was born on 4 February 1882 in Appleton, Wisconsin to Jacob Sherry (1851-1907) and Mary Elizabeth (Eliza) Spencer (1855-1909). His siblings were: Maud (1879-1956), Helen Catherine (b 1889) and Claire Spencer (1894-1962). The Sherry family was still in Appleton at the time of the 1900 census.
Clayte married Anna May Webb on 20 December 1905 in Port Arthur, Ontario. Both gave their residence as Port Arthur at the time of their marriage. Anna was born on 26 July 1883 in Point Edward, Lambton, Ontario to John Lennon Webb (1847-1901) and Margaret A MacKenzie (1851-1933). Her siblings were: Catherine Frances Rebecca (Frankie) (1878-1973), John Alexander (Alex) (1880-1960), Margaret Jannetta (Maggie) (1881-1895) and George Frederick Murdock (1888-1937).
By the time of the 1916 census, Clayte and Anna were living at 508 Saskatchewan Drive, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The 1918 Saskatoon Henderson directory listed Clayte as a traveler, living at #9-106 4th Ave N. He and Anna were still at that address in 1921. He was proprietor of the Sherry Lumber Company at that time. They subsequently moved to 208 Saskatchewan Crescent where they remained for the rest of their lives. Clayte and Anna both died in Saskatoon and were buried in Woodlawn Cemetery. Clayte died on 5 October 1960 and Anna on 18 June 1953.
