ROBERT DOUGLAS PURVIS

Robert Douglas Purvis was born on 12 August 1898 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to William Purvis (1865-1923) and Elizabeth Jane (Jennie) Balfour (1873-1946). His siblings were: Balfour William (1896-1956), Gordon Hunter (1900-1984) and Walter Summerville (b 1906). The Purvis family moved often over the years. They were in Winnipeg (1901), Portage la Prairie, Manitoba (1906), at 413 3rd Ave N, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (1916), at 306 27th St W, Saskatoon (1918) and in Vancouver, British Columbia (1921-1931).

Robert was working as a clerk and still single at the time of the 1921 census. At the time of his death on 26 June 1969 in West Vancouver British Columbia, he was married to Frieda Ida Mary Cooke who was born on 11 February 1901 in Brandon, Manitoba. She died on 13 June 1978 in North Vancouver, British Columbia.
