EDITH ELIZABETH PERRY

Edith Elizabeth Perry was born on 3rd April 1897 in Islington, England to Benjamin James Perry (1874-1957) and Annie E Howard (b 1875). His siblings were: Rhoda Ellen (b 1898), Benjamin James (1901-1902), Emily Maud (Emma) (1903-1970), Nellie Elizabeth (b 1905), Ann Priscilla (Nancy) (1907-1971), Alfred James (b 1909), Kathleen (b 1912), Hahanna(?) (b 1913), Hathy(?) (b 1915), and Ruby (1920-1998). Edith was raised in Tottenham, Middlesex, England until 1911. Her father was a groom and he immigrated to Canada aboard SS ‘Lake Manitoba’ arriving in Quebec on 2 May 1912.

Edith, her mother and her siblings boarded SS ‘Royal George' in Avonmouth, England on 30 October 1912 and arrived in Montreal, Quebec on 7 November 1912. Their destination was Port Arthur, Ontario where they were to join her father. In 1916 most of the Perry family was living in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. In that same year, Edith was living in a nurse's home in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan working as a seamstress. By 1921 most of her family was at 617 Ave L South. Edith was not living with them. She was at 119 Ave C South in 1918 and was employed as a phone operator at the George Hotel. In 1919 she was at Ave J South and was employed as a clerk at the same hotel. After this time, she could no longer be found in the Saskatoon Henderson Directories and nothing more could be found about her. It was, however, noted that many members of the Perry family ended up in British Columbia, so perhaps Edith did too.

This family tree can be found on Ancestry under the title 3rd Ave Perry Tree.
