Ina Ada Miller was born on 30 September 1882 in Olewein, Iowa to John H Miller (1844-1889) and Lydia Ann Bell (1847-1904). Her siblings were: Lynn B (1875-1895) and Hattie B (b 1877). Ina was raised in Fayette County, Iowa and according to census records immigrated to Canada in 1910. She likely married Sidney Percy Parrott in about 1912. Sidney was born on 18 August 1879 in London, Ontario to George Baker Parrott (1839-1911) and Mary Ann Seabrook (1841-1918). His siblings were: John Smythe (1863-1941), Richard (b 1865), Edward (b 1867), Agnes Louisa (b 1868), Thomas Alexander (b 1873), Josephine (b 1875) and Emma Catharine (b 1881). Sidney was raised in Caradoc, Ontario.
Ina and Sidney had three children: Anita Louise (1913-1937), Mirian Sidney (1922-1945) and Marshall Craig (1924-2009). The Parrott family lived at 607 Ave G South in 1916 and at 926 Saskatchewan Cres in 1921. Sidney was proprietor of Modern Steam Laundry from at least 1911 to 1945. Sidney died on 10 December 1951 in Penticton, British Columbia and Ina on 10 July 1956 in the same place.

Ina Dorothy Parrott was born on 19 December 1907 in Chatham Township, Kent, Ontario to Henry Britton (Harry) Parrott and Mabel Beatrice Shaw (1879-1960). She was an only child and never married. In 1911 the Parrott family was living in Harwich, Kent, Ontario.
The family moved to 429 10th St, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1917. By 1921 they were living at 320 11th St and they were still at that address in 1930. Ina's father was a shoemaker and repairer. Harry died on 22 March 1948, Mabel on 28 August 1960 and Ina on 18 August 1997. All died in Saskatoon and were buried in Woodlawn Cemetery.

There were two possible candidates for the Ina Parrott signature. They were both living in Saskatoon at the time that the quilt was signed and do not appear to be related.
