ROBINA KATHERINE (RUBY) MOWAT

Robina Katherine (Ruby) Mowat was born to Sinclair and Mary Mowat on 12 May 1902 in Edinburgh, Scotland.

On the 24 May 1912, her parents and her siblings, Sinclair and Phyllis sailed from Liverpool, England to Quebec on SS ‘Empress of Britain’ giving Saskatoon, Saskatchewan as their destination. Her father’s occupation was given as a merchant.

They appear in the 1916 and 1921 Saskatoon census records living at 220 Poplar St. Ruby married Alex D Taylor and had one son, Neil Taylor. After her marriage she lived in Outlook, Saskatchewan, but according to her obituary once again resided in Saskatoon from 1957 to 1962. She then moved to Regina, Saskatchewan where she died on 12 April 1990. She is buried beside her brother, Sinclair McKelvie Mowat in Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon.
