WALTER THOMAS ARRAND

Walter Thomas Arrand was born on 11 July 1869 in Middlesex, Ontario, Canada, the son of Thomas Arrand & Susanna Morden.

Walter had three brothers, George, James & Charles and four sisters, Jessie, Hannah, Mary & Sarah Charlotte.

By 1909 Walter & James had set up the Saskatoon Concrete Co at 911 Broadway Ave S, Saskatoon. Walter expanded into building work as a contractor during the Saskatoon boom years of 1911-1921. The prestigious Arrand Block at 520-24 11th St is the work of Walter and his brother Charles and was their home. See City of Saskatoon web site

Walter married Alice Matilda McNeill (née Murray) and they had one daughter Ada born in 1912. Walter died on 9 December 1952 and Alice died in 1972.
