BEATRICE IRVINE
Beatrice Pearl Irvine was born on 19 August 1908 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan to Rufus Irvine (1869-1945) and Sarah Munroe (1871-1944). Beatrice had nine siblings, Lulu May (1894-1973), Chester Dwight Levine (1898-1970), Eva Dell (1899-1965), Basil (1901-1992), Carman Munroe (1905-1992 ), Rufus Norval (1906-1988), Baby (1909-1909), Walter Lloyd (1913-1983) and Chester (b 1917). The family came west to Humboldt in 1906 and to Cory, Saskatoon in 1916. In 1921 they were living in Loganton, Saskatoon.
Beatrice married Hartley D Welker (1903-1957) in about 1925. Hartley was born to James Marion Welker (1858-1939) and Frances Warner (1867-1947). Hartley had twelve siblings, Alpha (1886-1903), Mary Magdeline "Maude" (1888-1936), Grover (1890-1892), Goldie Pearl (1894-1995), Harry (1896-1896), Gertrude Garland (1896-1979), Georgina (b 1899), Marian Russell (1900-1964), Orrin Orval (1905-1970), Vernon Oliver (1907-1996) and Edna (b 1915). The Welker family also came to Humboldt in 1906 and Cory in 1916.
After their marriage, Beatrice and Hartley lived at 706 Lansdowne Ave, Saskatoon. Hartley was manager of a Canada Oil Co service station. Hartley later worked for Purity Dairy Products as a driver and salesman. Beatrice and Hartley had five children, Clifford, Dennis, Frank S, Ronnie and Glen Orval. The family moved to Ferndale, Michigan, USA in the late 1940s.
Hartley died on 27 April 1957 in Michigan and Beatrice on 13 May 1980 in Glendale, Maricopa, Arizona.

Interesting sporting connection: Hartley’s sister, Gertrude married James Fern (Curley) Headley (1901-1956) who played hockey in Canada and USA. See Hockey Hall of Fame.
Beatrice Louise Irvine was born on 31 May 1907 in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan to Franklin Irvine (1883-1946) and Anne Ethel Armstrong McCulla (1882-1917). Beatrice had three siblings, John Franklin (1904-1979), Arthur (b 1911) and Elizabeth (b 1914). In 1911, the family were living in Moose Jaw. From 1906 until 1925, Beatrice was living with her family at 318 Ave E North, Saskatoon.
Beatrice married Christopher I Brantlien probably about 1925 in Saskatoon. Christopher was born in Norway to Anreas Bratlien and Anna Swartzhoel. Christopher farmed in Rostern and later lived in Moose Jaw.
Christopher died on 24 June 1980 in Salmon Arm British Columbia and Beatrice died aged 99 years, on 26 January 2007 in Saskatoon.

We have found two Beatrice Irvine’s in the Saskatoon area.
Both would have still been children in 1918 and perhaps Betting was a childhood name.
