Priscilla Maud Ayers born on 13 February 1857 in Prince Edward Island, Canada was the eldest daughter of Thomas Ayres and Maria Seller. She had four brothers, William George, Josiah & Artemas and five sisters, Annie, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Emily & Mary Maria (May).
Annie married William Ethelbert (Bert) Leard on 25 September 1890 in Union Road, Lot 33, Prince Edward Island. Twelve years later her sister Emily married Bert’s brother Waldron Brewer Leard on 17 September 1902 in St. Avards, Parkdale, Prince Edward Island. The Leard brothers were the sons of John Nathanial Wright Leard (1858-1948) & Frances Jane Leard (1835-1874). They had five other brothers, Elijah, Rufus Charles, Norman Wright, John Samuel Hick & Rowland Hill and one sister Rebecca Eliza Deinstadt.
Thomas Ayres died on 17 October 1906 and his wife, Maria died on 28 August 1917 both in Union Road, Prince Edward Island. Around 1916 the Ayres children left Prince Edward Island and scattered, some to the USA others moved east in Canada.
Priscilla settled in Saskatoon at 108 4th Ave N and ran a lodging house. She died in Saskatoon on 20 November 1942 and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Bert Leard & Annie also came to Saskatoon. Bert set up W E Leard & Co, Grocers at 520 Clarence Ave. Bert & Annie had three children, Isaac, Harold and Ethel. Annie died on 22 February 1939 in Saskatoon and Bert died on 25 December 1948 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan.
