MARTHA MARY KUSTUSH

Martha Mary Kustush was born on 1 May 1894 in Stockton, Portage, Wisconsin to Albert John Kustush (1864-1949) and Josephine Rattinoff (b 1862). The surname is spelled Kustush and Kustusch in various records and some death records were registered in each spelling. Her siblings were: Marion (1889-1979), John Albert (1890-1955), Phebronia Adelheid (likely Teby) (1892-1909), Albert (b 1892), Oliver (b 1895), Victor Joseph (1897-1963), Leo Francis (1900-1983) and Johanna (b 1906).

In 1900 the Kustush family was living in Grant, Portage, Wisconsin. Census records indicated that the family immigrated to Canada in 1904. Martha's father filed for a homestead on NE-32-38-25-W2 in the RM Bayne (near Bruno, Saskatchewan) and had the grant issued on 24 March 1909. The family was living on the homestead in 1911 and 1916, but Martha was only enumerated there in 1911.

Martha first appeared in Saskatoon Henderson directories in 1913 at 307 5th Ave North. She also lived at Queens Court (1914-1915), 612 3rd Ave North (1918), 708 5th Ave North (1919), 828 6th Ave North (1919-1920) and 920 9th Ave North (1921-1922). Over the years she worked as a clerk, stenographer and assistant to Dr J P DesRosiers.

In 1930 she was living in Orange, Orange, California and was a student nurse. Nothing further could be found out about her.
