Mrs DONAGHY née DEBORAH ANN LEWIS & EVELYN “EDITH” DONAGHY

James Donaghy was born on 19 November 1862 in Mono Mills, Peel, Ontario to James/Joseph Donaghy and Ellen Vine. Nothing further about his family could be found.

James married Margaret Anne Lavin on 17 May 1886 in Adjala Twp, Simcoe County, Ontario. Margaret was born in 1864 in Adjala Twp to John Lavin (1931-1874) and Mary Cosgrove (1831-1877). Margaret had five siblings, James Augustine (1862-1932), William Francis (b 1865), Mary Agnes (1867-1932), Sarah Letitia (1868-1906) and Elizabeth Jane (1869-1921).

James and Margaret had two daughters,

Margaret Eller (b 1887) and
Mary Ann (b 1889).

We presume that Margaret died shortly after Mary Ann was born as James remarried in 1900.

James married Deborah Ann (Annie) Lewis on 12 July 1900 in Teeswater. Annie was born on 9 June 1876 in Kincardine to George Leah Lewis (1849-1916) and Margaret Jane Bradley (1852-1930). Annie had eight siblings, Edith Ellen (1874-1895), Elizabeth Alice (1878-1953), Samuel (b 1881), Deby Jane (1882-1891), Henry (Harry) Albert Welton (1884-1953), Thomas Moore McCoskery (Mack) (1887-1950), Margaret Etta Jane (1889-1982) and Clark Bennett (1892-1959).

James and Annie had three children,

William Henry (1901-1901),
Evelyn “Edith” (1904-1984) and
Alice Loretta (1909-1981).

At the time of her marriage Edith was employed in a laundry, she married William Durant Butler on 17 April 1925 in Toronto. William was born on 17 July 1904 in Milton, Kent, England to William Durant Butler Sr (1883-1916) and Edith Judd (b 1883). William had two siblings, Florence (b 1906) and George (b 1908).

Edith died on 12 May 1984 and is buried in Colfax, Wellington, Saskatchewan. William died on 4 April 1990 in Toronto.
