DUNCAN KENNEDY

Duncan Kennedy was born on 6 August 1887 in Kinloss Twp, Bruce County to Archibald Kennedy (1842-1930) and Jessie Cameron (1853-1923). Duncan had ten siblings, John (b 1875), Alex (b 1876), Donald (b 1879), Colin Bruce (1885-1942), Allan Joseph (1890-1964), Catherine (b 1892), Mary (b 1893), Jane (b 1896), William (b 1899) and John (b 1900).

On 15 April 1912, Duncan arrived in Port Huron, Michigan on his way to Detroit to find work as a labourer.

Duncan married Zetta Kraemer in Detroit on 26 November 1918. Zetta was born on 29 June 1897 in Formosa, Bruce County to Joachim Kraemer (1861-0923) and Mary Agatha Kroetsch (1866-1934). Zetta had three siblings, Josephine (b 1890), Fredrick John (b 1894) and Regina Mary (b 1900).

Duncan and Zetta returned to the Kennedy family farm at Lot 22, Concession 4 in Culross where Duncan farmed with his father. Duncan and Zetta had nine children,

Catherine Mary (1921-2008),
Hugh Alexander (1923-2011),
Adam Joseph (1926-2014),
Douglas Archibald (1928-2011),
John Lewis (1930-1930),
Ronald Peter "Pete" (1937-2004).

Duncan died on 25 December 1973 and Zetta died on 25 August 1980, both in Teeswater where they are buried in the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery.
