Mrs J LINKLATER née JANE BRYCE

Jane “Jennie” Bryce was born on 16 January 1868 in East Wawanosh Twp, Huron County, Ontario to George Bryce (1844-1923) and Jane Turnbull (1845-1914). Jennie had five siblings, Margaret Robenah (Benna) (1872-1957), Hannah (1873-1936), Mary Ellen (1877-1950), Elizabeth Sarah (Lizzie) (1881-1962) and Annie G (Nettie) (1884-1971).

Jennie married John Flett Linklater on 26 November 1890 in East Wawanosh Twp. John was born on 26 September 1864 in East Wawanosh to William Linklater (1829-1920) and Elizabeth (Betsy) Linklater (1827-1909). John had six siblings, James H (1855-1937), Caroline (Carrie) H (1856-1939), William S (b 1859), Elizabeth Ann (1860-1942), Peter (1864-1920) and Thomas (1866-1943).

Jennie and John had one child, George “Harvey” (1891-1981).

John farmed in East Wawanosh until about 1910 and then he and Jennie moved to Wingham, Huron County. In 1921, John was a merchant for the farming community in Teeswater, Bruce County.

John died in 1950 in Kincardine, Bruce County and Jennie died in 1955. They are both buried in Kincardine Cemetery.
