BESSIE MAY MALLOUGH
Bessie May Mallough was born on 14 October 1903 in Kinlough, Bruce County to William L Mallough (1856-1928) and Margaret Kilpatrick (1871-1940). Bessie had one brother, William L “Willie” (1895-1896).
In 1921 Bessie was living with her parents in Teeswater.
On 10 June 1933, when Bessie married Jack H Turnpenny in Toronto, she was a school teacher living at 91 Atlas Avenue, York Twp in Ontario. Jack was an advertising manager living at 13 Hulmewood Drive, York Twp. Jack was born on 12 July 1901 in West Lorne, Ontario. It is not know who his parents were. Jack was adopted by Henry (Harry) Turnpenny (1855-1940) and Janet Sarah McCreath (1858-1940) and was living with them at 91 Scott St, Elgin West in 1911. The couple continued to live at 91 Atlas Avenue until at least 1935. They later lived at 5 Belvedere Boulevard in York Twp.
Bessie and Jack had one son born on 31 July 1944 who died in infancy on 17 November 1947.
Jack died on 5 July 1973 and Bessie died on 12 January 1981; are both buried in Park Lawn Cemetery, Toronto.
