ALBERT ANTHONY GEORGE MASSEL
Albert Anthony George Massel was born on 8 June 1891 in Culross, Bruce County to John Massel (1859-1938) and Mary Fehrenbach (1860-1940). Albert had six siblings, Saraphena Elizabeth (1886-1900), Alexander John (b 1888), William (b 1889), Frank (1893-1947), Johanna Catherine (1898-1993) and Leo (1902-1968).
Albert’s grandfather, Anton (Anthony) Massel (1827-1916) was granted the Crown Deed on Culross, Concession 13 Lot 6, eastern part of 50 acres on 15 August 1864. It is likely that this is the farm where Albert grew up.
In 1921, Albert was a farm labourer for Walter Statton in Blucher RM, Saskatchewan but by 1935 he was working his own farm in Formosa with his brothers as neighbours.
Albert never married. He died in Formosa in 1969.
