Ida Hazel and Otto “Perry” were the children of Jabez/Jacob Pennington (1852-1925) and Maria M Braden (1857-1939). They had six siblings, Wilbert Gary (1880-1953), Una Olive (1882-1913), Ava Ashton (b 1887), Carl Jabez (b 1894), Lancy Warren (1897-1965) and Charlotte Cora (b 1899).
Ida was born on 6 July 1889 in Culross, Bruce County. She grew up on the family farm at Concession 2 Culross and married Herbert Hie Dustow on 4 February 1920 in Culross. Herbert was born on 29 April 1885 in Carrick, Bruce County to Thomas H Dustow (1846-1907) and Hannah Sophia Mason (1849-1933). Herbert had nine siblings, Placidia Melissa (b 1873), Albert Edward (b 1874), May Annie (b 1876), John Arthur (1877-1952), Thomas Fredrick (b 1879), Janet Elvina (b 1881), Asher (b 1883), Oliver (1886-1964) and Eveline Grace (1889-1958).
Ida and Herbert had five children,
Harvey (1925-1934),
Ethel Jean (1930-2006),
Everett,
Roy (d 2009),
Orville (d 2008).
Herbert and Ida farmed in Carrick and later Mildmay. Herbert died in 1960 and Ida in 1970.
Perry was born on 2 April 1892 in Teeswater. When he enlisted in the 1st Central Ontario Regiment, 1st Depot Battalion on 25 May 1918, he was living at 19 Mulock Avenue, Toronto and employed as a munitions worker.
Perry married Myra Jane Taylor on 1 September 1926 in Wingham, Huron County. He was a farmer and she was a housekeeper. Myra was born on 20 August 1899 in Kinloss, Bruce County to William Taylor (1849-1927) and Lavinia Ann Bell (1857-1925). Myra had two brothers, David Leslie (1890-1947) and George Wendell (1892-1959).
Perry farmed in Teeswater from at least 1935 to the 1960s. He and Myra retired to Wingham where he died in 1977 and Myra died in 1993.
