Lela Ada Hurlbut was born on 8 March 1883 in Missouri, USA.
Lela married Claude Denton Blake on 27 November 1902 in Davenport, Iowa. Claude Denton Blake was born on 12 April 1882 in Kewanee, Henry, Illinois, USA, the son of Albert H Blake & Alice Lucinia Marquette. He had three brothers, Forrest Marquette (1895-1978), Charles Bailey (1896-1979) & Clarence (b 1896).
In 1910 the couple were living at 136 East Mill St, Wethersfield, Illinois. Claude was employed as a boilermaker. By 1911 they had moved to Canada and were living in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. They had two children, Wilma Anne (1910-1992) and William A (b 1916).
In 1918, Claude signed up for the US draft at Regina, Saskatchewan, giving his home address as 610 Duke St, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Claude died in October 1918 in Illinois.
In 1920, Lela was living in Los Angeles at 1921 Park Grove Ave with her two children.
By 1921 she had returned to Saskatoon and married Arnold Franklin George (b 1862). Their daughter Norma F George was born on 31 October 1922. Lela returned to the US and subsequently married Ralph O Anderson (1896-1996).
Lela died on 2 January 1973 in Los Angeles, California.
