ISABELLA MIDA BLAIR and OLGA LINA KENNEDY

Isabella (Isabel) Mida Blair was born on 29 January 1887 in Chelsea, London, England the daughter of Peter Blair & Amelia Adine Blain. Her sister, Olga Lina Blair was born on 26 November 1888 in Chelsea, London. They had a brother Harold John/James who was born on 22 February 1890 in Tooting, Surrey, England. In 1891, the family lived at 18 Wandle Road, Wandsworth, London and Peter was a commercial traveller. Peter died in January 1900 in London.

Amelia and her children came to Canada in 1908 and by 1909 had settled in Saskatoon at 332 3rd Ave N. Harold was a clerk for the CNR, but by the following year worked for International Harvester Co. He married Elizabeth Jane ? and moved to 614 Lorne Ave, progressing to a cashier at International Harvester. Amelia died on 29 September 1911 in Saskatoon.

In 1912, Isabel was a clerk for F K Switzer (Dentists) and living at 422 25th St.

The following year Olga Lina married William C Kennedy on 18 January 1913. Isabel lived at 618 6th St and was an assistant at F K Switzer. In 1914, Isabel continued to work for the dentist. Olga and William were living at #4 Listnadill Apartments, 23rd St E and Isabel lived with them. The city directory does not record an occupation for either Olga or William.

1915-18 Isabel was a nurse for Dr Switzer and latterly Dr J A Valens. Isabel, Olga & William lived together at 608 24th St E, then 816 6th Ave N and later 318 11th St. Olga worked as a saleslady in a grocery. William progressed from clerk via bookkeeper to accountant for the CNR.

In 1921, Olga and William have moved to 1535 St Andrews Ave, Vancouver, BC where William was an accountant.

Isabel left Canada for the US in 1924 and settled in California. She took US citizenship in 1938 and continued to live in Los Angeles, California until her death on 28 May 1955.

Olga & William later divorced and Olga settled in California, USA. She died on 3 March 1975 at Santa Barbara, California.
