FRANKLIN KNIGHT (FRANK) SWITZER and EDNA "IRENE" SWITZER née GRAY
Franklin Knight (Frank) Switzer was born in July of 1887 in North Dakota, USA to John K Switzer (b 1844) and Margaret J (b 1857). His siblings were: Luele M (b 1885), Zella L (b 1889) and Enid Mabel (1892-1984). In 1900 and 1910 he was living in Pembina, North Dakota with his family. He was also listed in the 1910 Saskatoon Henderson Directory at 301 Ave F with the profession of dentist.
Some time before 1916, he married Edna "Irene" Gray. She was born in 1888 in Duluth, Minnesota, USA to William Henry Gray (b 1858) and Elmira Jane (Myra) McDonald (b 1863). Her siblings were: Esther A (b 1890) and Winnifred (b 1892). The Gray family lived in Duluth until at least 1895. Frank and Irene had at least two children: Helen Elizabeth (b 1915) and Franklin Gray (1919-2001). In 1916, the Switzer family was living in the Listnadill Apartments, 23rd St E/5th Ave N in Saskatoon.
In the 1918 to 1921 Saskatoon Henderson Directories, Frank was listed as a dentist living at 721 Temperance Street and the Switzer family appeared in the Saskatoon 1921 census at the same address. Oddly, the family was recorded in the 1920 USA census living in Santa Monica, Los Angeles County, California, USA with Irene's parents, William and Myra. Frank joined 3rd Ave Methodist Church in Saskatoon in 1911 and Mrs Switzer joined later. Both were removed from the roll in 1922 and both were members of the Saskatoon Red Cross. In November of 1927, a border crossing record gave the address for Dr and Mrs Switzer as Regina, Saskatchewan. Nothing further could be found about this family.
This family tree can be found on Ancestry under the title 3rd Ave Switzer Tree.
