ISABEL BLAIN
Isabel Blacklock Blain was born on 19 August 1891 in Bruce, Ontario to David Blain (1865-1954) and Sarah Blacklock McMurray (1862-1931). Isabel had one brother, David Blain (b 1887) who probably died in infancy. In 1894, David Sr, Sarah and Isabel sailed on SS ‘Black Prince’ to England. They were lodging at 2 Slade Lane, Manchester, England at the time of the 1901 census, but returned to Canada the same year via the United States.
In 1911, the family were in Dauphin, Manitoba where David Sr was a farmer. Isabel arrived in Saskatoon in 1915 living at 419 Ave E South and working as a dressmaker. She lived with her parents in Saskatoon until she married Peter Crawford Denholm (1897-1969), probably in 1927.
Peter and Isabel lived at 1027 Ave C North throughout their married life. Peter & Isabel had two children David & Joyce I.
Peter died on 8 July 1969 and Isabel on 30 January 1981 both in Saskatoon.
