ERNEST LORNE DEGRIES BRADWIN

Ernest Lorne Degries Bradwin was born on 8 March 1880 in Wingham, Huron, Ontario, Canada to Joseph Edward Bradwin (b 1843) 7 Bridget Ann Burke (b 1845). Lorne had six brothers, Albert E (b 1866), Frances William (b1869), Charles H (b 1873), Joseph R (b 1875), Edmund William (b 1877) & Frederick James (b 1877).

The family moved west and were in Regina when Lorne married Margaret B (Madge) Tobin on 26 December 1907. Madge was born on 23 June 1881 in Ontario, Canada to Richard Tobin (b 1861) & Ellen M Condon (b 1859). Lorne & Madge had one daughter, Doris (b 1911) and two sons, John Frederick (Jack) (1912-1970) & Perry (b 1920).

From 1908 until 1920 Lorne was a departmental manager at J F Cairns store in Saskatoon. The family was living at 323 22nd St E when Doris & Jack were born but had moved to 436 Spadina Crescent in 1915 and remained there until 1919. When they emigrated to the US in 1923, they were living in Vancouver, possibly with Lorne’s sister-in-law Charlotte Amelia (McNally) who had married Charles H Bradwin (1872-1900) on 25 November 1895 and had moved to Vancouver.

The family lived in Spokane, Washington for many years until Madge’s death on 16 December 1932. Lorne lived on in Spokane until his death on 1 May 1953.
