Frederick Simon Bremer was born on 16 December 1870 in Illinois, USA to Frederick & Mary Bremer. He had two brothers, Henry (b 1864) & Herm (b 1866) and one sister, Bertha (b 1868). Fred Jr grew up in Illinois and Minnesota before coming to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1897. He worked on the rail road as a brakeman and conductor.
On 4 December 1912, Fred Jr married Rosa L Martz in Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota. Rosa was born in September 1889 to Jacob J Martz (b 1854) & Katharine R Ross (1862-1949). Rosa had four brothers, John Luke (1884-1964), Joseph (b 1886), Francis (b 1893) & Andrew Raymond (1899-1959) and six sisters, Mary (b 1888), Louisa (b 1891), Clara C (1894-1974), Elsie M (b 1898), Ruth M (b 1903) & Dorothy (b 1906).
Fred & Rosa travelled to England in September 1913 accompanied by Fred’s mother Mary. When they returned the next month, Mary stayed behind in England. From 1916-1925, Fred Jr was working as a rail road conductor and lived at 407 3rd Ave N, Saskatoon. Fred & Rosa had a son born in 1914 who did not survive. In 1940, Rose Lucille (1920-1990) & Frederick Ross (b 1929) were living with Fred Jr in Morningside, Hennepin, Minnesota and his wife, Clara.
It is possible that after Rosa died, Fred subsequently married his sister-in-law, Clara.
Their family tree can be found on Ancestry under the title 3rd Ave Bremer Tree.
