William George Henry Bulmer was born on 10 April 1870 in Wallace, Perth, Ontario, Canada to Henry Smith Bulmer (1839-1920) & Mary Jane Bailey (1840-1928). William had five brothers, James Robinson (b 1868), Herbert Havelock (b 1872), Thomas Alderson (1874-1966), Goldwin Smith (b 1876) & Joseph Ozro (1880-1978) and three sisters, Elizabeth Jane (b 1878), R P (b 1884) & Dora (b 1885). William’s father was a teacher and farmer.

In 1891, William was teaching in Wellesley, Waterloo North, Ontario but by 1901 he was recorded in the census as a dentist and was living in Beamsville, Lincoln & Niagara, Ontario. On 21 July 1903 he married Clara Belle Culp in Halton, Ontario.

Clara was born on 21 February 1876 in Clinton, Lincoln & Niagara, Ontario to Isaac S Culp (1834-1906) & Catharine Mozer (1833-1913). She had six brothers, Jacob Henry (1856-1937), Samuel Moyer (1860-1943), Josephus (b 1863), Isaac M (1865-1937), Franklin (b 1867) & Norman (b 1878) and five sisters, Nancy (1858), Lydia Jane (1861-1881), Catharine (1869-1899), Lovina (1871-1938) & Mary Etta (b 1873). Her family farmed in Clinton where she was living prior to her marriage.

William & Clara had four daughters, Florence (b 1904), Grace Irene (b 1906), Lena (Queen) Victoria (b 1907) & Bernice (b 1910) and two sons, William Henry Jr (b 1908) & Harold (b 1912).

The family moved to Saskatoon in 1908 and into the family home at 331 6th Ave in 1910. William was a real estate broker as well as dentist until 1916 when he established his practice at Suite 1, Cole Block, 216 2nd Ave S. He continued to practice until he was 86 years old in 1956 by which time the practice was at Suite 16 in Cole Block. He enjoyed only a short retirement and died on 15 May 1961. He is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Saskatoon.
