EDWIN AVERY and DOROTHY ALLWOOD Née AVERY

Edwin Henry Avery was born in October 1856 in Appledore, Kent, England, the son of Edward & Mary Avery. He married Matilda Wait (b 1857) in 1880. Their daughter, Dorothy Avery was born in April 1885 in Rye, Sussex, England. She had two brothers, Edwin & Richard and three sisters, Emma, Rachel and Deborah. The family emigrated to Canada in 1911, by which time Dorothy was a domestic maid, and the family settled in Saskatoon.

Dorothy married John Pridgeon Allwood around 1918. John was born in March 1880 in Eccleshall, Yorkshire, England and came to Canada in 1912 to carry on his trade of harness maker and dealer. Before his marriage he lived at 830 Broadway Ave, Saskatoon.

Dorothy & John lived at 1439 Ave G N, Saskatoon for many years and had two daughters, Jean and Dorothy. Dorothy Sr died on 29 May 1950 and John died on 6 June 1962.
