Dorothy Briscoe was a waitress in Saskatoon in 1916-18.
In 1916 she was at Flanagan Hotel, 243 21st St E, Saskatoon.
In 1917, she was rooming at Willoughby-Sumner Block, 256 3rd Ave S, Saskatoon and working as a waitress at J F Cairns, the departmental store. (Many others who worked for J F Cairns also have their names on the quilt). Her entry in Henderson’s Directory lists her as Mrs Briscoe.
In 1918, she is rooming at 315 Willoughby-Sumner Block and working as a waitress at King George Hotel, 157 2nd Ave North.
There is a very sparse family tree for her on Ancestry under the title 3rd Ave Briscoe 1 Tree.
We have been unable to find a census record for the Dorothy Briscoe described here. Nevertheless this is the only candidate we have found that matches the age/location for the name on the quilt.
