ANNA GERTRUDE SCHINDLER née LINDERT
Anna Gertrude Lindert was born in April 1875 in Minnesota, USA to Frederick W (Fritz/Fred) Lindert (1845-1902) and Catherina Franck (1847-1909). Her siblings were: Frede W (Fritz) (1867-1948), Wilhelmina Louise (Minnie) (1868-1952), Henry W (1871-1932), Andreas Jacob (Andrew) (1875-1941) and Charles (1877-1921). She was raised in Norwood, Carver, Minnesota and lived there until at least 1900.
Anna married Thomas F Schindler on 19 June 1907. By 1911 the Schindlers had moved to Watson, Saskatchewan. They had two children: Quentin Ralph, born on 30 March 1908 in Watson and Naimi Vivian, born in 1912. They were still in Watson in 1916, but had moved to 228 Poplar Crescent, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan by 1921. Anna died in Oct 1945.
There is a reference to her obituary in an index that includes the Weekly Valley Herald, a Carver County newspaper, on 18 October 1945. Thomas was still listed in Saskatoon City Henderson Directories at the Poplar St address until 1956. He was generally listed as a farmer, but in later directories was an insurance agent. His daughter Naimi Vivian who was working at Birks, watchmakers & jewellers was listed at the same address in 1947 and 1948. Thomas remained at 228 Poplar Crescent following his retirement. No further trace of Thomas was found after 1956.
