Nellie Maud Mary Graham was born on 21 January 1882 in Uxbridge, Durham, Ontario to Joseph Graham (1843-1913) & Elizabeth Ann Doherty (1848-1945). Nellie had two siblings, Albert Hartley (b 1885) and Emily Augusta (b 1886). Nellie’s father was a farmer and they came west to Saskatoon by 1908.
Nellie was a clerk with the Government Phones from 1908 to 1935. She lived with her family on Clarence Avenue until 1917 when she shared a house with Jennie and Nina Graham. See Graham Family.
After extensive searches we have been unable to link these two Graham families, but it does seem more than coincidence that Nellie signed the quilt in the same square as Jennie & Nina’s mother, Elizabeth.
Nellie was still living in Saskatoon in 1938, at suite 16 Queens Court but no further trace has been found.
Nellie’s brother Albert Hartley married Adele Brokenshire (b 1886) on 10 February 1914.
This family tree can be found on Ancestry under the title 3rd Ave Graham 2 Tree.
