William Samuel Scott was born on 29 December 1884 in Rosedale, Manitoba to Marshall Nay Scott (1857-1941) and Mary Ann Chatwin (1862-1955). His siblings were: Mary Elizabeth (b 1882), Alfred Chatwin (1887-1970), Robert Henry (1889-1975), Kathleen Lucy (1898-1982) and James Alexander (1903-1970). William was raised in Lansdowne RM, Manitoba until at least 1901. By 1906 he and his family had moved to the village of Eden, Manitoba.
William married Maud Albina Sangster on 30 August 1911 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was born on 26 January 1889 in Aylmer, Ontario to James Sangster (1849-1926) and Jane Atkinson (b 1856). Her siblings were: Bertha Alabunta (1885-1958) and George Charles James (1897-1978). The Sangsters were living in Aylmer in 1891 and in Winnipeg in 1901. William and Maud were living at 301 32nd St, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1916. William was listed at the same address in the 1918 Saskatoon Henderson City Directory. At that time he was chief clerk of the Railway Mail Service. According to their British Columbia death registrations, William and Maud moved to British Columbia in 1921. From 1928-1938 William & Maud lived at 3560 W 18th, Vancouver and William was a salesman with Neilson Ltd.
William died in Vancouver, British Columbia on 20 June 1938 and Maud in New Westminster, British Columbia on 3 April 1963.
