Ambrose Clayton Raymond was born on 16 April 1877 in Meaford, Grey County, Ontario to Ambrose E Raymond (1833-1906) and Lucy Cecelia Mott (1844-1923). His siblings were: Stanley Raymond (b 1868), Edith Viola (b 1869) and Nellie Violet (b 1869). A birth record existed for Edith, but not for Nellie. Ambrose was raised in Meaford and lived there until at least 1891. In 1900 he was living with his brother Stanley and his family in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He married Emily Mae Thomas on 2 October 1913 in Kane, Illinois. She was born in 1881 in the USA to William Thomas and Mina Abbott. According to census records Ambrose and Emily immigrated to Canada in 1913.
In 1916 Ambrose & Emily were living at 1004 Aird St, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. In 1921 they were at 1020 Aird. They had a boy and a girl. Ambrose was a travelling lumber salesman. Ambrose died on 20 September 1954 and Emily in 1976. Both died in Saskatoon and were buried in Hillcrest Memorial Garden.
