NORAH and MADELINE MOORE
Norah Moore was born on 3 December 1893 in Aston, Worthen, Shropshire, England to George Moore (1857-1910) and Lucy Price (Pryce in some trees) (1860-1902). Her siblings were William Corbett (1889-1964), Charles Leonard (1890-1892), Lucy (1892-1981), Robert George (1895-1895), Dorothy (b 1896) and Madeline (b 1900). She was living with her parents and siblings in Worthen in 1901.
In 1907, William immigrated to Canada. Then on 1 July 1910 Norah, her father and her sisters boarded SS ‘Empress of Ireland’ and sailed to Quebec, Canada. Her father, George, died in Immigration Hospital in Quebec on 31 July 1910 and was buried in Mount Herman Cemetery. His children were living together in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan the following year.
In 1916 the four girls were living together at 835 Ave C North in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Norah worked as a clerk for Government Telephones in 1918. She married Spencer Ball on 18 September 1920 in St Denis, York, Ontario. Spencer was born on 30 June 1890 in Liverpool, England to Benjamin Ball (b 1827) and Emily Spencer (b 1847). Spencer enlisted for WWI in Saskatoon on 28 February 1918.
In 1921 he and Norah were living in Toronto. Norah died in New Westminster, British Columbia on 21 November 1966 and Spencer in Vernon, British Columbia on 18 February 1986. He was married to Georgette Galiague at the time of his death. Norah was buried in Ocean View Burial Park in Burnaby, British Columbia.
Norah's sister, Madeline, was born in February of 1900 in Worthen. In 1918 she was living at 424 Ave J North with her sisters Lucy and Norah and worked as a stenographer for McLaughlin Motor Car Company. In 1920 she was still working at the same job, but had moved to 408 22nd St East. Nothing more could be found about Madeline.
