OREN FRANCIS MONTGOMERY and CARRIE MONTGOMERY née PANTIER
Oren Francis Montgomery was born on 10 April 1857 in Fredonia, Ozaukee, Wisconsin to O Joshua Montgomery (b 1823) and Sarah Brimmer (b 1824). His siblings were: Alice (b 1848), Deforest (sometimes De LaForest) (b 1851), Emmeline (b 1852), Harvey (b 1854), Ophelia (b 1858), Almira Lameria (b 1861) and Warren (b 1864). He was raised in Fredonia, Ozaukee, Wisconsin.
Oren married Carrie W Pantier on 23 July 1889 in Fairbury, Jefferson, Nebraska. She was born in April of 1861 in Petersburg, Menard, Illinois to James Taylor Pantier (1837-1864) and Catherine R (Kittie) Houghton (1843-1880). She had two brothers: Charlie (1862-1863) and James Taylor (1865-1937). Oren and Carrie lived in Plymouth, Jefferson, Nebraska in 1900. They immigrated to Canada in 1903 and had a homestead grant issued on NW-2-36-16-2 in the RM of Lakeside, Saskatchewan on 5 April 1907. Carrie's brother, James, had a homestead grant issued on the SW quarter of the same section on 23 April 1907, but returned to the States by 1910. Oren and Carrie had moved into the town of Quill Lake, Saskatchewan by 1911 and Oren was listed as a congregation book keeper in that census. By 1916 they had moved to Leney, Saskatchewan where Oren was a hardware merchant. They were still there in 1921. By 1935, only Oren was listed in a voters list for Leney, so either Carrie had died or she had moved elsewhere.
