THOMAS GEORGE McNAY and LENA CLAUDINE McNAY née DAUPHINEE

Thomas George McNay was born on 24 September 1886 in Perth, Ontario to Thomas McNay (1834-1886) and Mary A Hamilton (b 1847). His siblings were: Elizabeth (Eliza) (1868-1932), James (1871-1882), Mary (Minnie) (1872-1920), Caroline (Carrie) (1874-1894), John (1876-1953), Ellen (Nellie) (1878-1944), Robert Davidson (1880-1949), Margaret (b 1882) and Ida (1884-1944). Thomas was living with his family in Fullarton, Ontario in 1891 and in Mitchell, Ontario in 1901. By 1911 he was living in Regina, Saskatchewan.

From 1914 to 1916 he was single, worked as a repairman for Advance Rumely Thresher Co and lived at 713 Ave A North in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. In 1918 he was living at 302 25th St E and was still working at the same occupation. He married Lena Claudine Dauphinee likely in 1917 as that was the year she disappeared from Saskatoon Henderson Directories. Lena was born on 26 April 1888 in Tantallon, Nova Scotia to Isaac Dauphinee (b 1858) and Lavinia Caroline Johnson (b 1858). Her siblings were: Susie B (b 1887), Maggie M (b 1889), Allen R (b 1890), Melinda E (b 1892) Francis Redford (Frank) (1893-1957), Roland C (b 1894), Carrie Ina (b 1896), Harriet Myrtle (Hattie) (1898-1982) and Lillian J (b 1900). Lena and her family were living in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1891 and French Village, Nova Scotia in 1901.

Lena moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1911, likely with her sister, Susan who was listed in the Saskatoon Henderson Directory for that year. Lena lived at 433 Ave D South (1912), 518 12th St (1913-1914) and 304 4th St (1915-1916). She was a stenographer for F A Blain until 1914 and then became a stenographer for Western Canada Sawmill Yards. By 1921, she was married with two children and living at 1016 Ave E North. Her sister, Carrie, was living with them. Thomas and Lena had three children: Margaret Caroline (b 1919), Elizabeth (Betty) (b 1920) and John Dauphinee (Jack) (b 1921).

Thomas died in Saskatoon on 9 June 1941 and Lena in Calgary, Alberta on 20 February 1977. They were buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon.
