THIRD AVENUE METHODIST CHURCH QUILT

A CANADIAN RED CROSS QUILT

Another quilt?

MAE McDOUGALL

Mae McDougall was born in the United States in about 1884. Her father was born in Quebec and her mother in Ireland. She immigrated to Canada in 1917. From 1919 to 1926 she lived at 501 Drinkle Block #3, 116 3rd Ave S, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and over the years worked variously as a clerk or saleslady at J F Cairns, Hudsons Bay Company and McGown and Company. She identified as Roman Catholic on the 1921 census.

As our only source of vital record information was the 1921 census and census records often have mistakes, we are not sure that everything included in this biography is correct. We could find no other information about Mae, but believe she was the quilt signer as she was the only Mae McDougall we could find in Saskatoon in the right time frame and she was living very close to the church where the quilt was made. If you have any further information about her, please contact us.

This family tree can be found on Ancestry under the title 3rd Ave McDougall Tree.
